Welcome

I was driven by the words of my accounting teacher who once said, People do not give money without the expectation of getting something in return. If money is given, something is expected back in return. The way to get and give money is to invest.
Executive Summary
Welcome, my name is Nana Pinkrah. I am currently a senior at Towson University majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. My formal education in Finance entails of coursework in Fixed Income, Equity and Financial Management.
My interest in finance started when I was in middle school. As a child I wanted to become an entrepreneur. As I got older I began to learn more about the world that surrounds me. I began researching stocks. Several times a week I would find myself on Yahoo finance, observing stocks and the fluctuations within the economy. Growing up in a low to moderate income environment I realized that many people did not understand money management. Moreover, I saw poverty and struggling families. There were more expenses than income and nothing left to save. Overall, I believe I can make a difference. After graduating from Towson, I plan to pursue a career as a financial advisor/consultant in the non-profit sector; helping low and moderate-income persons or small businesses. My life’s work is to help others acquire financial literacy by teaching them how to better manage their funds, pay off debt and acquire sound investment skills .
Along with being a full-time student I currently provide my services to a private-owned dental practice as a Resource Manager. I have been in this role for the past two years. My commitment to customer service dates back to my time in high school. During this span of 6 years at Smoothie King I went from cashier, to team leader and at times was entrusted with the responsibilities of store manager.
I have substantial customer service experience. Moreover, I possess a competitive spirit along with a strong desire to succeed, exceed goals and maximize opportunities. Finally my current experience as an intern at Manna Inc – a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. has helped me to strengthen my foundation in accounting software and accounting principles.
The purpose of my online portfolio is to demonstrate my capabilities, talents and personal mission. I intend to prove to prospective employers that I possess a unique set of skills that would be an asset to any organization. While on my page you will learn that I have experience in continuously improving procedures and outcomes by constantly evaluating processes and looking for ways to make business operations more efficient. Even more, I am eager to learn new materials, skills, and software.
